Over 12,000 votes were cast in the search for Scotland’s six most spectacular sites. Once the Scotland in Six – Hidden Gems winners were revealed, it was time to celebrate!

Campbeltown Picture House in Argyll led the way with a visit from the Vintage Mobile Cinema, while the Govan Stones welcomed a horde of acrobatic Viking invaders (pictured).

Ardrossan Castle was lit up with colourful floodlights and a glowing procession before The Howff hosted a ‘Ye Olde Careers Fayre’ in Dundee to explore the graveyard’s historical trades with a careers quiz, 3D printing and themed tours.

Visitors will reimagine the James Watt Cottage in Bo’ness with LEGO and Minecraft on Saturday 30 September and Lincluden Collegiate Church is planning something so big that they wanted to wait until November!

If you’re feeling inspired by these sites the Scottish Library and Information Council is hosting a Hidden Gems Editathon on Heritage Awareness Day (6 October), where you can pick up new skills and improve the Wikipedia coverage of these sites.
