THE CELTS ARE COMING! 2018

The Celts are Coming! celebrates prehistoric life and is held over two days at The Scottish Crannog Centre.  The event features the following A-list of prehistoric experts:

Bronze-sword making – Neil Burridge will be weaving his magic and producing amazing bronze age swords before your very eyes! 

Prehistoric Foods – Caroline Nicolay of Pario Gallico will be cooking up a storm in the prehistoric kitchen.

‘Half Goat Leatherworks’ – Hamish Odinson joins us with his stunning leatherwork.

The Celtic Gardener – Suzanne Sporleder with be teaching us all about plants and herbs.

Spoon Carving – Jon Mac will be hand-carving amazing spoons, bowls and other fabulous wooden objects. 

Blacksmithing – Thomas Timbrell will demonstrate this traditional skill.

Stonecarving – David McGovern demonstrates his skills with stone, words and images.

Wood-Turning – Alex Wood will demonstrate woodturning and spoon-turning on his own lathe.

Textiles – Debbie Zawinski demonstrates drop-spinning and various ways with wool and textiles.

In addition, the Crannog community will be tin-casting together with all the usual Crannog core demonstrations of grain-grinding, stone-drilling and fire-making plus archery and spear-throwing! 

And, you can paddle back in time in our replica dug-out canoes.
