Archaeology Scotland are delighted to host two guided walks of Balgay Park led by New Scots who have been researching the history and archaeology of the park.
The walks are free and family friendly and will celebrate the contribution of New Scots to the historical research of the park, and how the past can bring people together through celebrating our shared cultural heritage and using archaeology to welcome people to Scotland.
Balgay Park is a beautiful historic greenspace with lots of interesting remnants of the past scattered around it, all which reflect the social, cultural and economic history of Dundee, from 4,000 years ago to 20 years ago. The tour will cover the cultural and natural history of the park as well as the guide’s reflections on their experience in archaeology and what they have learned over the projects.
The walks start at 12:30 and 14:30 (please register through the link below). Each walk will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. This walks are part of Refugee Festival Scotland 2026.
