Wallaces Tower, Historic Building Recording

As part of the programme of events for the Uncovering the Tweed project, parts of Destination Tweed, AOC Archaeology Group will be holding a skills training day at Wallace’s Tower.

The site visit will focus on using records of the site to better understand the historic tower. Volunteers will undertake recording which will include written records, detailed photography and photogrammetry. Weather permitting we will also be doing GPS and UAV survey and laser scanning.

Full training will be given on the day, no experience necessary. Details on where to meet in Kelso to carshare to site will be sent out to booked participants nearer the time.

Note: ticket registration closes 6 March.

While Dig It! takes every opportunity to ensure that this information is accurate, we advise that you contact the event organiser before attending the event to avoid disappointment. As “39% of transport emissions come from cars” according to Net Zero Nation, Dig It! also encourages you to walk, wheel, cycle or use public transport to arrive at this event if possible.
