1. This competition is open to everyone, except for employees of Dig It! 2015 and Forestry Commission Scotland or their families. Please note that the majority of prizes are based in Scotland.
  2. Submissions must include, reference or reflect on Scottish archaeology.
  3. An entrant can submit a maximum of four images, regardless of category.
  4. All images must be submitted as high resolution digital files (6MB maximum file size, 1MB minimum file size). Please submit one image per email.
  5. Submit your images by email to art@digit2015.com, with the following information: title of image, competition category, brief description and thoughts behind your art, age category, your name, address and telephone number. No postal entries will be accepted.
  6. All entries for the competition must be submitted by midnight on 19 July 2015, any images entered after this time will not be considered.
  7. All images must be legally obtained, with permission if appropriate.
  8. Entrants must be the sole author and owner of copyright for all art entered.
  9. If your contribution features other people who are recognisable, you are responsible for ensuring that you have their permission for the contribution to be treated according to the uses set out above. Contributions featuring children under 18 can only be accepted if you are the parent or guardian; by accepting these terms and conditions you warrant that you are the parent or guardian and that you grant permission for the contribution to be treated according to the uses set out below.
  10. Dig It! 2015 and Forestry Commission Scotland reserve the right to reject any submitted image. Entrants will not be notified.
  11. The judges’ decision on all matters affecting this competition is final and legally binding.
  12. Winners will be notified by email before 15 August 2015.
  13. If the winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts, Dig It! 2015 and Forestry Commission Scotland reserve the right to either offer prizes to a runner up or to re-offer prizes in any future competition.
  14. There is no cash alternative to the competition prizes. Prizes are not transferrable.
  15. Any winner who has not responded to notification within 21 days will forfeit their prize; a replacement winner will be selected from other entrants or the prize re-offered in a future competition.
  16. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants.  Where an image is used, the entrant will be credited.  However, on entering the competition, each entrant grants Dig It! 2015 and Forestry Commission Scotland a gratis licence to feature competition images in banners, publications, websites and any other promotional material. Copyright for the usage will be credited to the entrant.
  17. Dig It! 2015 and Forestry Commission Scotland reserve the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules, if necessary.
  18. No artefacts, sites or monuments should be damaged while capturing the image.
  19. Your information will always be safeguarded under the terms and conditions of the Data Protection Act to ensure that the information you provide us with is safe and only used for the competition purposes. Please note that the names of all winners will be published. We will not disclose your personal data to third parties without your permission to do so. 
  20. Entry to this competition acknowledges agreement to be bound by these rules.
  21. These rules are governed by the laws of Scotland.
