Treasure Trove Finds Day – Highland Archaeology Festival

Found an object? Not sure if it’s an old button or a Roman coin? The Treasure Trove Unit can help!

The Treasure Trove Unit from National Museums Scotland will be at the Highland Council headquarters identifying any and all finds you have discovered. Whether you have been metal detecting, having a house clear out, or stumbled across something you think might be important while out for a walk, this is your chance to get it formally identified by a member of the Treasure Trove Unit.

The team will be available 09:30 – 16:00 on Saturday 10 October and 09:30 – 13:30 on Sunday 11 October.

Please book a 15 minute timeslot, pack your treasure carefully and head to Inverness.

If possible bring along a completed Finds Reporting Form to tell them more about your object. They can help you fill these forms out on the day if required.

There is no charge for attendance at the Finds Day.
