To celebrate Dig Art! 2015, we’re running a series of mini-competitions on social media, and for our final competition, it’s time to get creative!
We’d like you to build your own archaeology for this round, and the materials are up to you. You can use anything that you can get your hands on, such as Minecraft, cake, knitting needles, office supplies and Lego. Will you create castles, excavations, standing stones, cairns or something else entirely? The possibilities are endless!

- The promoter is: Dig It! 2015 whose registered office is at Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, c/o National Museums Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1JF
- Employees of Dig It! 2015 or their family members shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
- Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are as follows: Upload a photo of your creation to Twitter and include an explanation, as well as @DigIt2015 and #DigItBuildIt.
- Open date for the entry is 12 noon on Monday 6 July and closing date is 17.00 on Monday 13 July 2015. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
- All images must be legally obtained, with permission if appropriate and entrants must be the sole author and owner of copyright for all art entered.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The prize for each winner, with three winners in total, is as follows: one Dig It! 2015 t-shirt, one Mac-Talla Nan Creag CD from Firecracker Recordings, one personalised Lego figure built by Immersive Minds.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
- No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- The winners will be chosen by Dig It! 2015 staff.
- The winners will be notified with a direct message and tweet within 24 hours of the closing date. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 72 hours of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
- Anyone found to use multiple accounts to enter will be ineligible and multiple entries in a single day will not be accepted.
- The promoter will notify the winners when and where the prize can be collected or mailed out.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Scottish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
- The winners agree to the use of his/her name, Twitter handle and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winners or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
