Time Team Dig at the Ness of Brodgar

The dates for the Time Team-funded excavation at the Ness have been confirmed and the dig will be open to visitors on weekdays between Tuesday 7 July and Thursday 30 July 2026.

The dig will see a small trench opened to investigate a series of anomalies in the 2025 ground-penetrating radar (GPR) results.

They are planning to run site tours during the excavation period, but please remember that the buildings previously excavated will not be visible.

While Dig It! takes every opportunity to ensure that this information is accurate, we advise that you contact the event organiser before attending the event to avoid disappointment. As “39% of transport emissions come from cars” according to Net Zero Nation, Dig It! also encourages you to walk, wheel, cycle or use public transport to arrive at this event if possible.
