Dig for Dun!

Ever wondered what archaeologists do? Ever wanted to make your own historical discovery? Now’s your chance!

This excavation organised by the House of Dun & Montrose Basin Nature Reserve will further uncover the remains of the medieval castle and search for evidence of how people lived and worked in and around the estate.

The dig is open to all (children must be accompanied by an adult) and the dig is accessible via gravelled paths and lawn grass. No experience is necessary, and all equipment will be provided.

Come along to dig for the day, the week or drop in for a chat about what they find!

While Dig It! takes every opportunity to ensure that this information is accurate, we advise that you contact the event organiser before attending the event to avoid disappointment. As “39% of transport emissions come from cars” according to Net Zero Nation, Dig It! also encourages you to walk, wheel, cycle or use public transport to arrive at this event if possible.
