Music & Mystery

Open for the only Saturday of the season, learn about Pictish society at Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum from a striking set of 26 carved stones. Dating from the late 700s to late 900s, this sculpture is all that survives of the Picts’ power centre at Meigle.

There will be short talks on the mystery and beauty of the stones here and live music, inspired by them.

Carers' tickets

Visitors with disabilities are charged standard admission rates (adult/concession/child). Proof of disability is not required. Up to two accompanying carers receive free entry per transaction.

Parking

On-street parking is available about 30m away.

Approach to the site

The museum is 10m from the road, along a fine gravel path. There is a set of 5 concrete stairs (with handrail) to the entrance. An alternative route is to carry on along the pavement up a steep slope and then take the path through the graveyard next to the museum. Entry to the museum via this route is over a timber ramp.

What to expect at the site

The museum is on the level, but has a raised threshold at its entrance and narrow areas between displays.

Toilets

The nearest adapted toilet is 6.5 miles away at Tesco, Welton Road, PH10 6NQ.

Dogs

Assistance dogs are permitted at all our sites and within roofed areas.  Visitors' dogs are not permitted at Meigle Sculptured Stones Museum.
