Found an object? Not sure if it’s an old button or a Roman coin? Trimontium Museum can help!
Join the museum and their colleagues from the Treasure Trove Unit from National Museums Scotland who will be at the Trimontium Museum identifying any and all finds you have discovered. Whether you have been metal detecting, having a house clear out, or stumbled across something you think might be important while out for a walk, this is your chance to get it formally identified by a member of the Treasure Trove Unit.
Please book a 15 minute timeslot, pack your treasure carefully and head into Melrose.
If possible bring along a completed Finds Reporting Form to tell them more about your object. They can help you fill these forms out on the day if required.
There will be a display of recent metal detecting finds from Trimontium Fort site in the museum reception area accessible for all visitors.
There is no charge for attendance at the Finds Day or to see the recent metal detecting finds display in the museum reception.
The museum gallery with cinema and VR Experience will both be open as usual – book online prior to your trip to guarantee entrance.
They can’t wait to see what you bring in.
