Bedrule Castle Excavation Open Day

Come along and see Archaeology Scotland and HARP’s excavations at the site of the 13th century Bedrule castle.

The team are investigating the chronology of this fascinating site, which was an important regional power centre through the Wars of Independence and Anglo-Scottish War of the 16th century, with strong links to the Turnbull Clan.

Come and see the archaeologists in action and learn how archaeology can fill in the gaps of human history and give us a more rounded and human glimpse into the past!

The historic Bedrule Church will also be open for visitors.

Site tours available throughout the day. Meeting point: Bedrule Village Hall, Bedrule, TD9 8TE
