V. Gordon Childe, Skara Brae and Neolithic Orkney: research and redemption

The Annual David Drever Memorial Lecture

By Professor Colin Richards

David was the Chair of Orkney Archaeology Society before his sudden and untimely death in August 2025. To celebrate his significant contribution to Orkney across a number of fields, the Society has inaugurated an Annual Lecture as part of the Festival.

They are delighted to have Professor Colin Richards to launch this series. Not only an OAS Board Member, Colin is also Professor of Prehistoric Archaeology at the Archaeology Institute and a very well published author in his own right as well as in collaboration with colleagues.
